 Susan H. Butler, Attorney at Law, focuses her practice in all areas of family law and domestic relations, including child custody and visitation, equitable distribution of assets and liabilities, division of retirement assets, as well as maintenance and child support for all income levels, including the issues of underemployment, deviation from guideline support, and the support requirements of children with special needs. She has handled numerous contested custody, visitation and interstate removal cases, and has substantial experience in dealing with mental health issues, professional evaluators, and alleged child and spousal abuse, both verbal and physical. Additionally, Susan has extensive experience in handling complex asset division, pension issues and maintenance for both men and women. She has written appellate briefs and has argued cases before the Illinois Appellate Courts for both the Third and Fourth Districts while representing clients in the appellate process. Susan Butler is also a qualified child representative and guardian ad litem, accepting appointments in the Tenth Judicial Circuit, which includes Peoria, Tazewell, Stark, Putnam and Marshall Counties. She also serves as a Certified Mediator for the Tenth Judicial Circuit of Illinois.  Susan
