 Susan H. Butler is a Certified Mediator for the Tenth Judicial
Circuit
of Illinois, which includes Peoria, Tazewell, Stark, Putnam and Marshall
Counties. She has completed
intensive training in conflict resolution and
divorce mediation, including 40 hours of
intensive mediation training with Benedict Schwarz II, J.D., and additional
hours of training specifically focused upon impediments and professionalism in
mediation.
Mediation rates are $150 per hour, and are paid at the time of the mediation
appointment. Susan Butler accepts both court-appointed and private mediation
cases, and performs mediation of all family law issues, including property
distribution, custody and visitation, maintenance and support, and removal of
children from the State.
She strongly believes that individuals faced with difficult divorce issues
should make
an attempt to fashion a mutual agreement resolving their differences
before utilizing the
litigation system, except in instances where the issues or
the persons involved make mediation impractical or contrary to the best
interests of the parties or their children. |
