Child custody and back-to-school season

At any time of year, it can be hard for a parent to work through a dispute over child custody. Certain occasions, such as the time when kids return to school, can be especially hard for parents. If you are simultaneously trying to deal with responsibilities related to a dispute involving child custody and your child returning to school, such as helping them become accustomed to their new schedule or buying clothes and school supplies.

It is important for you to focus on any areas of concern related to the dispute and do what you can to work toward an outcome that is ideal for you and your kid(s). You should also try to understand how difficult this time may be for your child, who could have school-related stress as well anxiety and uncertainty regarding his or her parents. By discussing what is going on with your child and trying to answer any questions that they have, you could be able to help them tremendously in this regard.

Our law office knows the high levels of stress that many parents have to deal with when they go through a custody dispute, especially when there are other stressors in one's life. Dealing with back-to-school season can also be tough for parents who have recently completed the custody process, such as deciding which parents will have the kid on certain days and so on. It is important for you to have a solid understanding of your options and our page on this area of law goes over more with regard to custody disputes.
